
Isotopes overpower Redbirds

Memphis, Tenn. - Albuquerque overpowered Memphis thanks to four home runs in the Isotopes 6-4 win at AutoZone Park Wednesday afternoon.
Former Redbird John Gall terrorized Memphis starter John Wasdin hitting a pair of solo home runs on the afternoon. Andrew Beattie and Jai Miller joined in with solo home runs of their own helping the 'Topes to an early 6-0 lead. Gall finished the day with a team-high three hits and three RBI.
David Freese led the 'Birds with two home runs of his own knocking in three runs. Freese's second home run was estimated at 457-feet after hitting the YMCA located beyond left-centerfield. Wasdin took the loss after giving up six runs on 10 hits, including all four Albuquerque home runs.
Bobby Keppel was perfect through four innings before Josh Phelps singled in the fifth. Keppel earned the win allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits in seven innings of work. Joe Nelson picked up his fifth save of the year and his second of the series despite giving up a home run to Freese in the ninth.
Mitchell Boggs will get the start for the Redbirds tomorrow night against Albuquerque's Gaby Hernandez. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
