HEADLINES: RedHawks go for sweep of Cubs ... Eaton makes rehab start ... Webster stays hot
TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Iowa Cubs are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last year, the Cubs were 64-75 and finished fourth in the PCL American Conference Northern Division.
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their eight-game road trip against Iowa. This is their 97th game this season, 51st road game and eighth game against Iowa.
LAST GAME: The RedHawks scored six runs in the seventh inning in their 7-4 win over Iowa. Anthony Webster was two-for-four with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the RedHawks. He is 5-for-12 with four RBIs in three games this series against Iowa. The RedHawks bullpen held Iowa scoreless over the last 2.2 innings.
VS. IOWA: The RedHawks are 48-53 all-time against Iowa since the two teams joined the PCL in 1998. The RedHawks are 24-27 against Iowa at Principal Park. Last year was the RedHawks first season series win over the Cubs since 2001 when they won five of eight against them.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Starting pitcher Adam Eaton makes his second rehab start for the RedHawks and his fourth rehab start of 2006. Eaton has been on Texas' DL since April 1 with a strained tendon in his right middle finger. He started and went two innings for Oklahoma in a 4-0 loss vs. Omaha July 6. He allowed one baserunner on an error and struck out two in that game. He made two rehab starts for Frisco and gave up one run in 6.1 innings (1.42 ERA) for the RoughRiders. Lefty Ryan O'Malley starts for Iowa .
RUNS: The seven runs the RedHawks scored in last night's game was their most since they beat Round Rock 8-2 June 29. The RedHawks have not scored double digit runs since they won 14-8 at Salt Lake May 20.
BULLPEN: In the last nine games, the RedHawks bullpen has given up 10 runs, eight earned, over 40.1 innings (1.79 ERA). The bullpen has 37 strikeouts and 10 walks in the last nine games.
CLOSE GAMES: Thirty-nine of Oklahoma 's 47 wins this season have come by four runs or less, including 22 one-run wins. Also, 38 of Oklahoma's 49 losses this season have come by four runs or less, including 15 by one run.
RADIO UPDATE: The RedHawks' flagship station for most games is KEBC 1340 AM. However, there are a few dates the flagship station will change due to scheduling conflicts. The RedHawks will be on AM 1000 KTOK July 22 and 29 and Aug. 26. They will be on KFXY 1640 AM Aug. 20 and Sept. 3.
DOT-DOT-DOTS: The RedHawks are 38-27 since Mike Boulanger took over as manager May 11 ... There has been a save in each of the seven games this season between Oklahoma and Iowa ... The seven games this year between Oklahoma and Iowa have been decided by a total of 13 runs.
