Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers look to continue their best home start ever when they meet the Iowa Cubs for the fourth time in their five-game series at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers are 10-0 in Oklahoma City to start 2018, marking just the fourth time in the stadium's history OKC has had a home win streak of nine or more games.
Last Game: A four-run fourth inning provided all of the offense the Dodgers needed to maintain their home winning streak and collect a 4-1 win against Iowa Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. After collecting just one hit through the first three innings, the Dodgers' offense broke through in the fourth inning. Henry Ramos walked and Rob Segedin singled before Travis Taijeron brought home the first two runs of the night with a triple to deep right field. Jake Peter followed with a RBI single to add another run for a 3-0 Dodgers lead. Later with two outs, OKC starting pitcher Tyler Pill lined a RBI single into left field for a 4-0 advantage. The Dodgers' pitching staff held Iowa off the scoreboard and to five hits for seven innings. The I-Cubs scored their lone run of the night in the eighth inning when Iowa's Efren Navarro tripled with two outs and then scored on a single by Mark Zagunis to cut OKC's lead to 4-1. Pill pitched four scoreless innings in his second start with Oklahoma City, allowing four hits with three strikeouts. Brian Moran (1-0) followed Pill on the mound, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit to earn his first win of the season. Iowa starting pitcher Jen-Ho Tseng (0-4) was charged with the loss, allowing all four Dodgers runs and six hits in 6.0 innings.

Head Start: The Dodgers have won 15 of their first 19 games of the season and their 15-4 record is tied for the team's best-ever start through 19 games since rejoining the PCL in 1998. The 2008 squad also started 15-4, but no team has won 16 of the first 20 games. It IS How You Start: OKC starting pitchers have combined to go 5-0 with a 1.99 ERA (19 ER/86.0 IP) while holding opponents to a .215 batting average (67x312) over the first 19 games. The rotation has also totaled 80 strikeouts against 23 walks, resulting in a 3.48/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Only once all season has a starting pitcher allowed more than two runs in a game, and the lone exception was when Brock Stewart surrendered three runs over 5.2 innings against New Orleans April 13...However, there have only been two starts of 6.0 innings, and entering tonight, the starting rotation has barely thrown more innings (86.0) than the bullpen (83.1).
Mound Men: The Dodgers have allowed just 15 runs total over their last seven games after allowing 26 runs over their four games prior. During that time opponents have batted .192 (42x216), including 5-for-31 with runners in scoring position. It was also the team's eighth game with 10-plus strikeouts.
Around the Horn: Henry Ramos' hit in the fifth inning Friday night moved him into a tie with Donovan Solano for the team lead with 23 hits this season, along with his team-best 19 RBI - fifth-most in the PCL. In nine home games, Ramos is 19-for-38 with seven extra-base hits and 17 RBI....Cael Brockmeyer is 7-for-16 over a five-game hitting streak. He has hit safely in all six of his starts this season while batting .400 overall (8x20)...Travis Taijeron tripled Friday and has now hit safely in a season-best four straight games. He's picked up five RBI over the last three games after collecting four RBI in his first 16 contests...Friday night marked just the third time through the first 19 games the Dodgers were outhit by an opponent. Ironically, the Dodgers have won all three of those games.
