Dodgers Stay Perfect in OKC with 7-1 Win

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored five runs over the first two innings to build a solid early lead on the way to an eventual 7-1 win against the Iowa Cubs Saturday night to remain undefeated at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers improved to 11-0 in Oklahoma City for the team's best start since the ballpark opened in 1998, also marking just the fourth time the team has put together a winning streak of nine or more games at home.

The Dodgers now own a 16-4 record overall, becoming the first Oklahoma City squad to win 16 of its first 20 games since rejoining the PCL in 1998.

Oklahoma City got on the scoreboard first Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 9,651.

The Dodgers loaded the bases with one out in the first inning and Travis Taijeron connected on a sac fly to score Donovan Solano from third base for a 1-0 lead.

Iowa (4-16) scored its lone run of the night on a fielder's choice to tie the game, 1-1, in the second inning.

Oklahoma City then scored four runs in the second inning.

Angelo Mora doubled to deep center field to lead off the inning for Oklahoma City. Rocky Gale followed with his second homer of the season out to left field for a 3-1 Dodgers advantage. Rob Segedin later lined a RBI single to center for a 4-1 Dodgers lead.

The Dodgers loaded the bases later in the inning with two outs for Breyvic Valera, who brought home OKC's fourth run of the inning with a RBI single.

Oklahoma City tacked on a run in the fourth inning when Solano scored on a wild pitch for a 6-1 lead. Solano finished the night with a team-leading three hits.

Mora's RBI double in the seventh inning scored Valera to give the Dodgers a 7-1 lead.

Saturday marked the fifth time this season the Dodgers have held their opponent to one run and they have allowed just 16 runs total over their last eight games.

Dodgers starting pitcher Guillermo Moscoso (1-0) pitched a season-high 5.0 innings in his second start of the season, allowing one run and six hits. He did not issue a walk and recorded five strikeouts.

Oklahoma City relievers Edward Paredes and Joe Broussard combined for four scoreless frames to close out the game.

Iowa starting pitcher Michael Roth (0-2) was charged with the loss for the Cubs.

The five-game series against Iowa concludes at 2:05 p.m. Sunday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Tomorrow is a Chaparral Energy Family Sunday, featuring pregame player autographs, a mascot meet-and-greet, face painters, inflatables and postgame kids run the bases.
