Iowa Cubs News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Iowa Cubs (4-16) extended their losing streak to seven games with a 7-1 loss to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (16-4), Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Leading Iowa's offense, Taylor Davis collected his fourth-consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 and reaching for a third time with a walk. He is 13-for-26 through this stretch. Mike Freeman snapped a four-game skid with a 3-for-4 night.

Michael Roth entered the game with a league-leading 0.52 ERA, but was chased early as he allowed five earned runs on seven hits through 2.0 innings. Oklahoma City plated a run in the first inning and followed with a four-run second, powered by a two-run home run from Rocky Gale.

Iowa got its only run of the game in the second. Davis and Bijan Rademacher roped back-to-back singles to open the frame. Chris Gimenez moved Davis 90 feet from home with a fly ball to center and Jacob Hannemann collected the RBI with a fielder's choice grounder.

Alberto Baldonado was a boost to Iowa's effort, allowing one run over three relief innings. The Dodgers got to the lefty in the fourth as Donovan Solano took advantage of a leadoff single to extend Oklahoma City's lead to 6-1.

The home team would add one more in the seventh off Rob Zastryzny to solidify the final score. Roth (0-2) was charged with the loss, while former I-Cub Guillermo Moscoso (1-0) captured the win.

Iowa and Oklahoma City close the series at 2:05 p.m. CT tomorrow at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. To catch all the action, listen on AM 940 or www.iowacubs.com.
