Reno Aces News Release
Today's Game: Nine games back in the Pacific Northern division, the Reno Aces will face Right-hander Casey Kelly in Sacramento Saturday night. Greg Gross will send Troy Scribner to the mound, who looks for his second win of the season.
About Last Night: The Reno Aces fell a bit short Friday night in Sacramento, losing to the River Cats 6-4. Right-hander Taylor Clarke got the nod for Reno, delivering five innings and allowing five hits four earned runs. The loss moved Reno to a record of 6-16 in 2018, their worst 22-game start in franchise history. Offensively, the Aces were led by Marcus Littlewood who finished 2-for-4, with two RBI and a home run. Cesar Puello had his best offensive performance of the year, going 3-for-3.
Back-to-Back: Marcus Littlewood and Kristopher Negron hit back-to-back home runs Friday night in the top of the fifth inning. This is the first time this season a pair of Aces has accomplished this feat and the first time since Christian Walker and Zach Borenstein did so on August 8, 2017 in Las Vegas. Christian Walker is currently in the Big Leagues with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Borenstein is with the Las Vegas 51's.
April Showers: With a record of 6-16, the Aces have the second-worst record in the Pacific Coast League. Just the Iowa Cubs have a worse record (4-15). The Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016 and boast a 2018 record of 13-10. Arizona went to the playoffs last season and currently sit atop the National League West with a record of 18-7.
