Oilers Sweep Oakley/CHL Awards

With a three game winning streak, and solid performances throughout the line-up, the Tulsa Oilers have swept the Central Hockey League Oakley honors for the week ending November 15th. Right winger T.J. Caig is the Oakley/CHL Player of the Week, and Kevin Armstrong is the Oakley/CHL Goaltender of the Week.

Caig's consistency netted him two goals and one assist in each of the Oilers three wins; a 6-5 win at Mississippi, a 5-2 win at home against Rapid City, and a 4-1 win at home against Missisippi.

The 5-foot-11, 206 pounder from Kelowna, BC now ahs nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in the Oilers 10 games this season. He is fifth in the CHL scoring race.

In backstopping the Oiler victories, Armstrong-6-foot-1, 205 pounds from Winnipeg, MB-turned aside 87 of the 95 shots he faced for a .915 save percentage on the week. He was 3-0-0 with a 2.67 goals against average in the three games.

The Oilers start a four game week hosting the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 p.m. at the BOK Center Tuesday. All games can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.
