Arizona Sundogs News Release

The Arizona Sundogs (4-6-2) split a two-game set with the Corpus Christi IceRays last weekend, topping the visiting club by a 6-3 mark on Friday before falling 6-4 the following night. The Sundogs used a four-goal first period and a three-point outing (1g/2a) by Jon Landry to secure the 6-3 win Friday. A total of 114 penalty minutes, including 69 in roughing and fighting-related infractions, were handed out by referee Mike Wiegert in a game that lasted three hours and 15 minutes Saturday. Next up for Arizona are three road games in three nights in three cities beginning Thursday, Nov. 19 against the expansion Allen Americans (6:35pm Arizona time). The Sundogs take on the Wichita Thunder on Friday, Nov. 20 (6:05pm Arizona time) and the Amarillo Gorillas on Saturday, Nov. 21 (6:05pm Arizona time).

Sundogs Storylines:

- Arizona was whistled for 54 penalty minutes in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Corpus Christi IceRays, the most this season. Combined penalty minutes in the game reached 114, also the most for Arizona in a game this season.

- After having his league-best eight-game point streak snapped in a 4-3 loss to the Laredo Bucks on Nov. 7, Sundogs leading scorer Torren Delforte has picked up where he left off with two goals and an assist in two games against the Corpus Christi IceRays last week. Delforte leads the team in scoring and ranks tied-for-11th in the CHL with 15 points (9g/6a). His nine goals are tied-for-5th in the league.

- Rookie Joey Sides continues to shine and is averaging a point per game in his first seven professional games with two goals and five assists. He has been held scoreless in just two games this season and his plus-6 rating is tied for third-most on the team. He ranks fourth in the CHL among rookies in scoring and his plus-6 rating is most among first-year players.

- Two-time all-star Konrad Reeder is averaging nearly a point per game with 11 points (4g/7a) in 12 games this season. His plus-7 rating is good enough for second-most on the team. Reeder owns the longest active point streak on the team with four points (2g/2a) in his last four contests.

- Veteran defenseman and player/assistant coach Chris Bartolone is still averaging nearly a point per game despite his added responsibilities with the club, having netted one goal and nine assists in 12 games this season. His 10 points rank fourth-most among CHL d-men and his plus-8 rating is best on the team and fourth among league blueliners.

- Arizona has the second-best plus/minus rating in the CHL at plus-58. Colorado leads the league at plus-69 while Odessa ranks third at plus-44. Tulsa is fourth-best at plus-32.

- Five of the Sundogs' eight losses (regulation and overtime/shootout) this season have been by one goal, tied with Texas for second-most in the CHL. Corpus Christi has lost by one goal six times this season.
