Wichita Thunder News Release
The Wichita Thunder returned home after a three game road swing looking for an answer against the Tulsa Oilers, but Bruce Ramsay's club was up to the task as Tulsa handed Wichita its third straight loss Saturday night, 4-1. Dylan Clarke had a goal and assist, Jeff Terminesi added three helpers and Ian Keserich recorded his league leading eighth win of the season. With the loss, Wichita drops into third place as Tulsa won its first game at INTRUST Bank Arena infront of 7,088.
For the second night in a row, Tulsa scored the first two as Ryan Cramer found the net just 2:32 into the game. Seven minutes later, David Solway stole a puck and walked in all alone from the face-off dots in and deaked out Thunder goalie Ryan MacDonald and gave Tulsa a 2-0 lead. At 11:55, Wichita cut the lead to one on the powerplay when Andrew Martens drove the net, ran into Oiler netminder Ian Keserich and Thomas Beauregard picked up a loose puck and scored his sixth of the season. Beauregard scored in Friday night's loss in Tulsa and 12 points overall.
Dylan Clarke scored the only goal in the second period at 6:24 on the powerplay, deflecting in a shot from Sean Erickson through MacDonald to give Tulsa a 3-1 lead. The Oilers would add an empty net goal and claim the victory, 4-1. With the loss, Wichita has lost three straight, all to Tulsa over the last week and now sits in third place in the Berry Conference with a record of 8-4-0 and 16 points.
The Oilers now lead the season series three games to one with each game being decided in regulation. Thunder defenseman Andrew Martens added an assist to stay near the top of the leaders for defenseman with 12 points, one point behind Terminesi, who has 13.
Wichita returns home Wednesday night to take on rival Missouri at 7:05pm. For tickets, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena Box office or go online to www.selectaseat.com.
