Tulsa Oilers News Release
TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers announced today they have released veteran forward David Alexandre Beauregard and goaltender Mike Garman. Defenseman Matt Register, waived on Saturday, has been claimed off waivers by the Arizona Sundogs.
In 26 games this season, Beauregard recorded four goals, and 12 assists. The 36-year old left wing scored one game-winning goal for the Oilers in a 1-0 overtime victory at Fort Worth on November 10.
"I have nothing but respect for David Alexandre Beauregard, the way he carries himself, and the way he plays the game," said Bruce Ramsay, Oilers Head Coach. "David has meant a lot to this organization over the years but at this time I feel it is best that we move in a different direction. I want to thank David for all his efforts this season and I wish him nothing but the best in the future."
Beauregard, named CHL Rookie of the Year with Wichita in 1997-98, was in the middle of his fourth tour with the Oilers. The Montreal native played two full seasons in Tulsa from 2006-08 and returned to the team for a 16-game stretch during the 2009-10 campaign. After spending the last two seasons playing for the Nottingham Panthers in England, Beauregard signed with the Oilers prior to training camp to start his 17th professional season.
Garman, who signed with Tulsa at the end of November, appeared in seven games for the Oilers. The 25-year old goaltender posted a 1-3-0 record with a 4.83 goals against average and a save percentage of .874.
In his second season as a professional, Register played 25 games for the Oilers and concluded his time in Tulsa with one goal and ten assists.
The Oilers finish a five-game road swing with a pair of games at Quad City on Friday and Saturday. Both contests are set for 7:05 p.m. at i wireless Arena in Moline, Illinois.
