Oilers Acquire Gascon From Arizona

Although the Tulsa Oilers and Arizona Sundogs have never played each other in the Sundogs three year existence (and don't play this season) they have come together on a trade.

The Oilers have acquired center Martin Gascon from Arizona in exchange for defenseman Jason Lawmaster.

Gascon, in his first season in the Central Hockey League, is Arizona's second leading scorer with seven goals and 37 assists for 44 points in 41 games. The 5-foot-10, 170 pound 27-year old also is +2 and has 14 penalty minutes.

Lawmaster, who was the Oilers player assistant coach, hasn't played since suffering a knee injury on January 10^th in Oklahoma City. In 32 games with the Oilers, Lawmaster had six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. He had 88 penalty minutes and was minus 12.

The Oilers play at Oklahoma City on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. Gascon's status for that game is uncertain due to travel availability to join the team. He is expected to play Friday when the team visits Amarillo and Saturday at Texas.

Tulsa's next home game is Tuesday February 3^rd against the Colorado Eagles at 7:05 p.m. at the BOK Center.
