Odessa Jackalopes News Release
(Odessa, TX) - The Jackalopes won both of their games this weekend for their "Pink at the Rink" event. Odessa has now won their last four straight with three games upcoming this week.
Last week's record: 3-0-0
This week's games: Tuesday vs. Corpus Christi, Friday vs. Corpus Christi, Saturday vs. Rio Grande Valley
Wednesday @ New Mexico, 5-2 Win
Kenny Bernard scored a pair of first period goals, Mario Joly and Mike Ramsay scored third period goals as the Odessa Jackalopes pulled away in their 5-3 win. Alexandre Vincent made 25 saves in the win.
Friday vs. New Mexico, 4-3 Win
Both teams exchanged goals in the first and second periods as the game was tied 2-2 entering the third. Kory Karlander scored the game winner at 10:27 of period three to give Odessa the 4-3 win. Karlander was the first star while the Jacks gave up just 20 shots in the game.
Saturday vs. Tulsa, 6-1 Win
Odessa trailed 1-0 after one period, but then scored six unanswered goals the rest of the way including five in the second period alone. Six different players scored Odessa goals as Jeremy Symington stopped just 18 of just 19 shots. The win capped off a perfect week for the Jackalopes.
Tuesday and Friday vs. Corpus Christi, 7:05 PM
The rivalry renews between the IceRays and Jackalopes as the two teams meet for the seventh time this season. The Jacks are 4-1-1 in the season series and but have only outscored the Rays 17-11 in their first six meetings. The IceRays currently have five players on the IR list, and are in a battle for the Southern Conference's last playoff spot with the Arizona Sundogs.
Saturday vs. Rio Grande Valley. 7:05 PM
This has been the most competitive season series for the Jacks who are 3-1-1 against the Killer Bees this season, but have outscored Rio Grande just 20-18. This will be the sixth meeting of the year between Odessa and Rio, as four of their previous five meetings have been decided by just a goal.
