
Oil Kings Roster Set For Opening Night

Edmonton, AB.: The Edmonton Oil Kings want you at Opening Night. The teams 3rd season is going to start with a bang. The Calgary Hitmen will be the opponent on Saturday, September 19th at Rexall Place at 7:00 pm. The Hitmen posted the most wins in the WHL last season so this will be a great test for the Oil Kings. Edmonton made their first post season appearance last year. The Oil Kings are building a young, aggressive and skilled team that is eager to make a long playoff run happen.
The Oil Kings have trimmed their roster to 25 players for Opening Night. The list includes 2 goalies, 8 defensemen and 15 forwards. The Oil Kings reassigned goalie Laurent Brossoit and released 20 year old defenseman Garrett Thiessen. The Oil Kings are down to the maximum of 3 overage players, goaltender Torrie Jung, defenseman Drew Nichol and forward Brett Breitkreuz.
