Wheat Kings To Unveil New Site

Brandon, Manitoba - The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings, in conjunction with Sobkow Technologies, is excited to announce a new innovative online look for the Brandon Wheat Kings (www.wheatkings.com) for the 2009-2010 season.

The club's official web site, recognized in the past for its wealth of information and exciting features, will undergo a facelift and the new look will be unveiled on Friday, September 18th. The site will feature several new elements as well as giving western Manitoba hockey fans the opportunity to share the highlights of their Summer vacations for a chance to win some great prizes.

The Oak Island Golf Resort "How I Spent my Summer Vacation Contest" will invite fans to submit photos from their summer holidays for a chance to win a great prize package that includes a new Wheat Kings' Edge Reebok replica jersey, signed by the Wheat Kings as well as a golf package from Oak Island Golf.

The deadline to enter the contest is Thursday, October 8th with the grand prize to be announced at the Friday, October 9th Western Hockey League game at Westman Communications Group Place between the Wheat Kings and Kootenay Ice.

Among the many features will be a completely integrated real time statistics system, searchable photo albums, online stories and countless other features typically found on hockey websites including an exciting Multi Media section that will feature game highlights, features and player profiles. As well, the new site has been built with a heightened amount of interactivity aimed at making the fan experience as rewarding as possible.

Fans will again have the opportunity to register for the Wheat Kings' Canad Inns Insider (subscription to all scouting reports, stats, press releases and promotional material), participate in the Subway Opinion Poll or listed to CKLQ's play by play broadcasts with the voice of the Wheat Kings, Bruce Luebke.

On the ice, the Wheat Kings will kick off their 2009-10 Western Hockey League season Friday night in Prince Albert against the Raiders. Brandon will then meet the Pats in Regina on Saturday night before returning home for their Home Opener on Friday, September 25th against the visiting Swift Current Broncos.
