Oil Kings Defeat Rebels 3-1

With nothing on the line in terms of the standings, the Rebels and Oil Kings kicked off their home and home series to finish off the regular season.

FIRST PERIOD - no scoring

SECOND PERIOD

In his Rebels debut, Jordan DePape opened the scoring midway through the period. Parked in front of the Oil Kings net, he tracked down the puck and beat goalie Laurent Broissoit for his 5th goal of the season. Brooks Maxwell and Joel Hamilton with the assists... 1-0 Rebels at the 6:07 mark.

The Oil Kings got back on even terms with a power play goal of their own. Henrik Samuelsson took advantage of a great set up from Michael St. Croix to score his 33rd goal of the season. Griffin Reinhart also assisted on the goal... 1-1 at the 16:52 mark.

THIRD PERIOD

Edmonton took a 2-1 lead thanks to a fortuitous bounce. Griffin Reinhart shot wide of the Rebels net from the point. The puck bounced off the end boards and hit Patrik Bartosak before sliding into the Rebels net. Reinhart's 8th of the season, assisted by Cody Corbett and Cole Benson, made it 2-1 for the Oil Kings 6:59 into the third.

Curtis Lazar would slide home his 37th goal of the season into an empty net at 19:59... Oil Kings win 3-1
