Head-to-Head

The Pats and Broncos finish the 2012-13 Regular Season with the back half of their home and home. The Pats hold a 1-3-2-1 record against Swift Current this season. Lane Scheidl and Dyson Stevenson lead the Pats with seven points each in the season series. Adam Lowry is the top Bronco with six points (3G, 3A) in the season set. The Pats come into this evening's contest on a three game slide, though they have points in two of those games including last night's shootout loss to Swift Current. After their shootout victory in Regina last night, the Broncos are on a three game winning streak. Tonight's game will be broadcast on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Edged by Broncos 3-2 in Shootout

The Pats opened up a two goal lead in the first period with Marc McCoy netting a powerplay goal and Lane Scheidl following up with his fortieth goal of the season, also on the powerplay. The Broncos would reply in the second and third periods with Adam Lowry and Richard Nedomlel scoring before Swift Current would eventually take the game in a shootout with Graham Black picking up the winning tally. Award Winners

The Pats presented their 2012-13 Awards last night. Lane Scheidl was awarded the Player of the Year, Kyle Burroughs took Top Defenceman honours, Matt Hewitt was named the Unsung Hero as well as Most Popular Pat, Teagan Sacher is the Pats Rookie of the Year, Colton Jobke was presented with the Community Service Award and Griffin Mumby was the Scholastic Player of the Year.

Molson Cup Three Stars

The Molson Cup is going right down to the wire. The top three are already decided with Chandler Stephenson occupying the third slot while Matt Hewitt and Lane Scheidl battle it out for top honours. Hewitt and Scheidl entered the final weekend of the season tied with 35 "˜star points' on the season. Lane Scheidl grabbed a two point lead in the standings with his second star selection last night in Regina.

Who to Watch on Swift Current

Colby Cave didn't have a point last night in Regina, but was a factor in the game as he created numerous chances in the Pats' zone. Eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft, Cave is in the midst of a 20 goal/20 assist season and is ranked 140th among North American Skaters by Central Scouting.
