Edmonton, AB - The Calgary Hitmen made a Friday night visit to Edmonton but dropped a 3-0 decision to the Oil Kings at Rogers Place.

The loss was the first for Calgary against their Central Division rivals following three convincing wins.

The Hitmen outshot the home side 44-30 but Oil Kings goaltender Kolby Hay made 44 saves for his first career Western Hockey League shutout. Brayden

Peters finished with 27 saves for the Hitmen.

The Oil Kings used a quick start to propel them to victory, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of the game getting unassisted tallies

from Gavin Hodnett and Dawson Seitz just 61 seconds apart. Noah Boyko would later add an empty net marker.

On the special teams front, Calgary went 0-7 on the power play and killed both Edmonton chances.

The Hitmen, 23-17-3-1, return home for a pair of games to complete the weekend beginning tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 28 against the Saskatoon Blades.

Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation. Calgary will then host Winnipeg on Sunday, Jan. 29 in their first meeting of the season with the ICE. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
