Edmonton, AB - Led by a two goal effort from rookie Mitch Moroz the Edmonton Oil Kings took a 3-2 win over the visiting Red Deer Rebels on Friday night at Rexall Place. Moroz tallied his 12th and 13th goals of the season including the game winner for the Oil Kings who raised their impressive home record to 22-4-1-1. Michael St. Croix notched the other Oil Kings goal for his team leading 33rd of the season. St. Croix now has 80 points on the season with 21 games remaining and sits fifth in the WHL scoring race.
Goaltender Laurent Brossoit scored his 29th win of the season as the Oil Kings record goes to 34-12-2-4 on the season. Edmonton remains in first place in the WHL Eastern Conference, a full six points ahead of the second place Moose Jaw Warriors.
