Cranbrook, BC - The Kootenay Ice got a buzzer beater to defeat the Calgary Hitmen 2-1 Friday night at the Cranbrook RecPlex.
Sam Reinhart scored his second goal of the game with just one second left in the third period to produce the game winning goal.
Reinhart's first goal of the night just over four minutes into the first period gave Kootenay a 1-0 lead they would hold until the third period.
Jimmy Bubnick, with his 22nd of the season, pulled Calgary even with 4:27 left in regulation.
Both goaltenders made several big saves with Nathan Lieuwen making 28 stops in the win for Kootenay while Brandon Glover recorded 23 saves in the Hitmen net.
Calgary, now 31-18-2-1, returns to action tomorrow night in Red Deer against the Rebels. Radio Broadcast on Sportsnet 960 The Fan starts at 7:00 p.m. with a 30 minute pre-game show.
