
Dinner Tickets Scarce

Brandon, MB. -- While it may be close toselling out, the Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that there arestill a limited number of tickets remaining for the2012 CKLQ Sportsman's Dinner, scheduled forThursday, February 9th in the Keystone Centre's UCT Pavillion.
The Dinner, which was first held in 1959 at the Brandon Armory and featured the likes of former major league baseball starLefty Gomez and Chicago Blackhawks scoring starBill Mosienko, is held annually to raise money for the hockey club'sScholarship Foundation.
As of Friday morning, over six hundred tickets had been sold for this year's event, which will feature Canadian Football League Hall of FamerMichael "Pinball" Clemons.
Joining Clemons on stage this year will be comediansKelly Taylor andBig Daddy Tazz, who will serve as this year's master of ceremonies.
In addition to the entertainment, the evening will feature a Celebrity Sports Auction - both Live and Silent - and will feature a number of great items.
Among the items that will be available on Thursday is aWinnipeg Jets prize package that includes a pair of tickets to the Saturday, February 25th game againstRyan Reaves and the St. Louis Blues, hotel accommodations at the Viscount Gort, a framed photo of the Jets' 2011 Home Opener vs. Montreal at the MTS Centre and an autographed jersey from former Brandon Wheat King right-wingerEric Fehr.
Other items include autographed jerseys fromDustin Byfuglien (Winnipeg Jets),Brayden Schenn (Philadelphia Flyers),Mike Richards (Los Angeles Kings),Jordan Eberle(Edmonton Oilers),Keith Aulie (Toronto), a Team Canada World Junior Hockey Championship jersey autographed by Wheat Kings' captainMark Stoneas well as a Maple Leafs jersey signed by Hockey Hall of FamerDoug Gilmour.
In addition to the jerseys, there is aMark Stoneautographed WJHC framed photo, a Winnipeg Blue Bombers' helmet signed by quarterbackBuck Pierce as well as framed photo of Hockey's Royal Family -the Howes. The photo is signed byGordie, MarkandMarty Howe. A former Philadelphia Flyer, Mark joined his father in the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2011.
