Oil Kings Acquire Forward Aidan Litke from Portland

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired 2003-born forward Aidan Litke from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a 2023 third-round draft pick (59th overall, via Prince George).

Litke, 20, has played three seasons in the WHL, all with the Winterhawks after being selected by the Club in the sixth round, 129th overall, of the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

The Winnipeg, MB product is coming a career season that saw him tally 36 points (13G, 23A) in 50 games, to go along with 36 penalty minutes and a +11 plus/minus rating.

"We are very happy to have been able to acquire Aidan from Portland," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kirt Hill. "Aidan has a lot of experience in the WHL with Portland and will be able to help provide us with offence up front next season. He has an elite shot and the ability to provide a physical presence as well.

"We look forward to welcoming Aidan and his entire family to the Oil Kings."

The 6-foot-1, 199-pound forward has appeared in 123 career WHL regular season games amassing 67 points (31G, 36A), 95 penalty minutes and a +14 plus/minus rating. In 13 career post-season games, he has four points (1G, 3A), 12 penalty minutes and a -7 plus/minus rating.
