Oil Kings Acquire Carson Golder from Victoria

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired 2002-born defenceman Carson Golder from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a ninth-round selection in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, the team announced today.

Golder, a Smithers, BC product, is a veteran of 54 career games in the WHL collecting two points (0G, 2A) and 10 penalty minutes.

This past season, the 6-foot-1, 186-pound blueliner played with the Trail Smoke Eaters in the BCHL putting up three points (2G, 1A) in 15 games.

Golder is a graduate of the Pursuit of Excellence U18 AAA program finishing his minor hockey career in 2018-19 putting up 21 points (7G, 14A) in 41 games.

The ninth-round pick going to the Royals was originally acquired by the Oil Kings on January 25, 2021 from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for defenceman Wyatt McLeod.
