Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (26-21) jumped on Brent Suter (6-3) with two home runs while Dylan Floro (4-4) cruised through eight innings in a 6-1 win over the Huntsville Stars (31-17) Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Suter came into the game with a 1.96 ERA, but it did not take the Biscuits long to get on the board. Leading off the first inning, Taylor Motter deposited a 3-1 pitch over the left field wall to put the Biscuits on the board first. Four batters later, after a walk to Jake Hager, Luke Maile stroked a double to score Hager for his first of three RBI.

Floro allowed two hits and a walk in the first two innings but worked out of each frame with the help of a groundball double-play. After the second inning, Floro never allowed more than one base runner in each inning, except for the fifth when he also received help from a double-play. Floro finished the night with four strike outs and one walk for his fourth win. He has now allowed one run in his last 22 innings.

The power bats continued in the fourth inning for the Biscuits when Luke Maile hit a two-run home run to make it a 4-0 game. The Biscuits have now hit nine home runs in the last six games.

Montgomery picked up two more runs in the fifth with an RBI from both Shafer and Cameron Seitzer.

The Stars avoided the shutout in the ninth inning. Jason Rogers tripled with one out and was then brought in by a ground ball from Shawn Zarraga.

The Biscuits will look for a series-win in game four on Saturday night. RH Roberto Gomez will be on the hill for the Biscuits while the Stars will have RH Jacob Barnes toe the rubber.
