Amarillo, TX - With the best record in the CHL, the Odessa Jackalopes triumphed over the Amarillo Gorillas 8-1 Friday night.

Odessa came up with the contest's first marker less than two minutes remaining in the first period. While planted at the top of the Amarillo crease, Jackalopes forward Kory Karlander slammed home his 16th goal of the season on the power-play. Gorillas goaltender Tuomas Lohtander came up with Amarillo's highlight of the frame, stopping forward Kenny Bernard on a breakaway opportunity earlier in the period. Odessa 1 Amarillo 0 after one period of play.

After the Jackalopes scored at the 9:04 mark, the Gorillas countered 2:37 later on the power-play. After a flurry of shots on Jacks netminder Juha Toivonen, forward Stuart MacRae scored from his keister, earning his 20th goal on the season. Odessa found the twine toward the end of the middle frame, when forward Troy Ofukany tipped home a James Sanford shot for his first goal as a Jackalope this season. After two periods, Odessa 3 Amarillo 1.

The Jackalopes scored five times in the third en route to an 8-1 win.

With his second period goal, Stuart MacRae has 16 points over his last 16 tilts...Amarillo's power-play has scored 13 times over their last 8 home contests...Tuomas Lohtander has started 8 of Amarillo's last 11 tilts.
