Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The winning streak is still alive for the Texas Brahmas as they defeated the Wichita Thunder 4-1 Friday at the NYTEX Sports Centre for their seventh straight victory. Brett Jaeger stretched his winning streak as well as he has been in net for all seven wins.

The Brahmas looked to set the tone early as they took the lead in the first period after a Thunder powerplay expired sending Texas into an offensive mode. Reaping the benefits of a line attack was forward Scott Thauwald when his shot trickled past goaltender Scott Campbell for his fourth of the season. Texas headed into the first intermission tying a team season high with 22 shots on goal.

Five shots into the second Kevin McLeod netted his fourteenth of the year when he fired a shot on Campbell's blocker side at the 5:29 mark. The Texas "D" went back on the boards as a little give and go from Thauwald to Ross Rouleau found the back of the net shorthanded for a 3-1 score. The Thunder powerplay ended Texas' hot goaltender, Brett Jaeger's bid at a shutout when Neil Clark went top shelf as he sat in the netminder's crease.

With under two minutes remaining in the game Jason Deitsch kept his game scoring streak alive when he drilled the puck home for a 4-1 victory; his seventh consecutive game with a point. Jaeger earned first star honors in the win stopping 26 shots.

Tomorrow night Texas takes on the Odessa Jackalopes for a 7:05 PM faceoff. The Brahmas will be donning special Reliant Energy sweaters for the game and will host a live game worn auction immediately following the final buzzer.
