
O'Brien Named AMI Graphics Plus Performer of the Month

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien has been named the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for January after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +12.
O'Brien, 29, was even or better in all 13 games during the month and was a +2 on four occasions, including in back-to-back games on January 16 at Reading and January 20 against Greenville when he scored a goal and two assists in both contests.
The Nicolet, Quebec, native ranks second on the Stingrays with an overall plus-minus of +14 and leads the team with 20 goals, 34 points and six power-play goals.
O'Brien has 201 points (66g, 135a) in 251 career regular-season games with South Carolina and 25 points (8g, 17a) in 45 career Kelly Cup Playoff games. He was part of the Stingrays' third Kelly Cup championship team in 2009 when he scored 19 points (6g, 13a) in 23 postseason contests. O'Brien also skated in seven career AHL games with Portland and Iowa tallying one assist.
In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI Graphics will present O'Brien with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month Banner during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming Stingrays home game.
The Stingrays hit the road for a three-game road trip starting tonight, Wednesday, February 1 against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:00 p.m. at Wing Stadium and return to the North Charleston Coliseum Tuesday, February 7 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday is 2-for-1 Ticket Night!
