
Oaks Shuts Down Travs in Double-A Debut

Tulsa, OK - The Arkansas Travelers were edged 2-1 by the Tulsa Drillers on Wednesday morning at ONEOK Field.
RHP Trevor Oaks (W, 1-0), who was making his Double-A debut, worked six innings for Tulsa and allowed the run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
LHP Grant Dayton and RHP Rob Rogers (S, 1) finished the game with three scoreless innings for the Drillers.
RHP Alex Blackford (L, 2-1) the reigning Texas League Pitcher of the Week, entered the game with a 0.57 ERA through his first three starts. The righty pitched 5.2 innings and allowed the two runs on four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.
RHP Danny Reynolds and LHP Edward Paredes did not allow a run over the final 2.1 innings for Arkansas.
The Travs trailed 2-0 on a 2B Brandon Trinkwon RBI single in the third and LF Jacob Scavuzzo solo home run in the fourth, but cut the deficit in half in the fifth. CF Bo Way lined a one-out double off the wall for Arkansas and scored on a SS Sherman Johnson two-out RBI single.
Arkansas continued to struggle with runners in scoring position. The Travs went 1-for-11 with RISP and are 4-for-30 in the series.
Travelers 1B Eric Aguilera finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and is 6-for-13 with three doubles in the series. Way finished 2-for-3.
With the loss, Arkansas fell to 8-11 on the season. The two teams will conclude the four-game series on Thursday night at ONEOK Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
