Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - Joe Jackson delivered a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, a 4-3 victory over the San Antonio Missions Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

Ryan Cordell scored the game-winning run for the Riders (13-4) to cap off another big night at the plate. Cordell extended his league-leading hit streak to 12 games with his fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field in the sixth inning that tied the game, 3-3. He also drove in Frisco's first run with a sacrifice fly in the first that put the Riders up 1-0.

Connor Sadzeck breezed through his first four innings of work, but ran into trouble after that. The Missions (8-10) tied the game at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The following inning, San Antonio grabbed a 3-1 lead by way of an RBI double by former RoughRiders first baseman Mike Olt and another sacrifice fly.

After Cordell's game-tying home run, reliever Ryne Slack (2-0) escaped a bases-loaded jam in the seventh, helping keep the game tied until the ninth inning, when Jackson delivered the game-winning swing.

Major-league rehabber Chris Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a walk as the designated hitter Tuesday in his second game with the Riders. His lone base hit was a single to lead off the ninth inning that set up the walk-off single for Jackson.

Tuesday's win marked the first walk-off victory for the Riders since August 16, 2015 against the Springfield Cardinals.

They've now won four of their last five games and aim for the series win against San Antonio Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. Right-hander Sam Wolff (3-0, 1.69 ERA) is scheduled to make the start for the Riders, while San Antonio plans to throw major-league rehabber Brandon Morrow (1-0, 7.20 ERA). Fans can watch the action on MiLB.TV and live coverage can be heard on the Frisco RoughRiders Radio Network, on the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App. Dr Pepper Pregame Show coverage begins at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday will be the first Weiner Wednesday of the year at Dr Pepper Ballpark, with $1 hot dogs all game long. It's also the second education day of the year, as the Riders welcome in students from around North Texas to the ballpark. Tickets for Wednesday's game, and all remaining games in the homestand are available now online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at info@ridersbaseball.com, over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office.
