Nottle Released as Rapidz Manager
July 30, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Ottawa Voyageurs News Release
(OTTAWA) July 30, 2008 - The Ottawa Rapidz announced today that Ed Nottle has been released as manager of the team. The decision is effective immediately and Tom Carcione has been named to lead the team to the end of its inaugural season.
"The decision to part company with Ed came only after long and careful deliberation," said Rob Hall, co-owner of the Rapidz. "Ed has helped the Rapidz take root in Ottawa but a manager is ultimately judged by his team's performance on the field and we felt it necessary to make a change at this time," said Rob Hall.
Tom Carcione who began the season with the Rapidz as batting coach will manage the team until the end of the season. A decision on Ed's full time replacement will be made once the season is over. "I've spoken with Tom and he will be considered as a candidate for the position next year," said Hall.
The Ottawa Rapidz winners of the last 5 out of 6 games resume play at home on Monday, August 4 against the Sussex Skyhawks.
