North American Soccer League Releases 2014 Fall Season Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, January 16, 2014) - Indy Eleven and the rest of the North American Soccer League will springboard off the momentum of this summer's FIFA World Cup, as the league today announced the 2014 Fall Season will kick off during the final weekend of soccer's ultimate showcase.

All ten NASL clubs will play an 18-game Fall Season schedule featuring home and away contests against each competitor. Nine of the clubs will be fighting for the visitor's spot in NASL Soccer Bowl 2014, to be hosted by the victor of the Spring Season in mid-November.

"Now that the Fall Season schedule is in place, the club and our fans can start planning in earnest for the entirety of the 2014 season at Carroll Stadium," said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt.

Eight of Indy Eleven's nine home games during the Fall Season will kick off on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., the lone exception being the affair against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Indy Eleven will begin the Fall Season against the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday, July 12, the eve of the World Cup Final in Brazil. After facing off against the RailHawks - who went undefeated at their WakeMed Park fortress in 2013 - Indy Eleven will return to the Hoosier State for its Fall home opener on Saturday, July 19 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Four teams will be making their maiden voyage to the Circle City during the Fall campaign, highlighted by the defending NASL champion New York Cosmos' visit on August 30. The Atlanta Silverbacks (Aug. 2) and Ft. Lauderdale (Aug. 6) will do the same earlier that month, while Minnesota United FC will have to wait until Oct. 11 to head to the Hoosier State.

One week later on Oct. 18, Indy Eleven will round out its home slate by hosting the San Antonio Scorpions. Indy Eleven's first-ever trip to the San Antonio's gleaming new home of Toyota Field will take place on Aug. 9.

Another highlight of the Fall season will be the continuation of Indy Eleven's series against its "Class of '14" expansion brethren, Ottawa Fury FC. The back-and-forth between NASL's newest clubs starts with an Aug. 23 home date at Carroll Stadium and wraps up with a visit to Fury FC's new TD Place home during the penultimate weekend of the season on Oct. 25.
