Norfolk to Face New Clubs

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced today that with the AHL 's Schedule Format for the 2002-03 season, a number of new opponents are included in the Admirals' schedule. Additionally, Norfolk will again battle South Division rivals Hershey, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 10 times each. The AHL will release the full 2002-03 regular season schedule sometime in early to mid-August.

The teams to challenge the Blue and Gold for the first time are: Binghamton Senators (Ottawa), Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NY Islanders), Houston Aeros (Minnesota), San Antonio Stampede (Florida) and Worcester IceCats (St. Louis). In all, the Admirals will face 19 of the 27 other AHL squads during the 2002-03 regular season, including Calder Cup Finalists, Bridgeport and Chicago.

"Admirals fans should truly enjoy this year's schedule," said Norfolk Admirals Director of Operations Todd McKeating. "In addition to seeing the teams we've built rivalries against, like Hershey and Philadelphia, for the third straight season we get the chance to build new rivalries with clubs such as Bridgeport and Worcester. This will be a fun year."

The Admirals' season ticket drive continues, and those interested in renewing their season tickets for 2002-2003 have until June 17 to do so with a $50 deposit per seat before their seats are made available to the general public for sale. Partial package for the 2002-2003 season are also now available. The deadline to renew seats for partial packages with a $50 deposit is August 23.

Season tickets for 2002-2003 are as follows, with the previous price in parentheses: Gold Section $475.00 ($480.00), Blue Section $375.00 ($435.00), White Section $275.00 ($280.00). The Navy Section, now phased out, was priced at $395.00 for a season ticket, and has been incorporated into either the Blue Section or White Section, depending on seating area.

The prices for the 10-game partial package are as follows, with the individual discounted ticket prices in parentheses: Gold Section $137.50 ($13.75), Blue Section $107.50 ($10.75), White Section $77.50 ($7.75). The prices for the 20-game partial package are: Gold Section $275.00 ($13.75), Blue Section $215.00 ($10.75), White Section $155.00 ($7.75). Window prices for individual tickets are as follows: Gold Section $15.75, Blue Section $11.75, White Section $8.75. The games included in the packages will be announced when the schedule is released.

Those interested in renewal, or new buyers who would like to place at least a $50 deposit per seat, may call the Admirals office at (757) 363-1900. Doing so will open a window with 2002-2003 pricing information, a seating diagram and a link to an order form for purchases.
