June 7, 2002 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

Hartford, June 7, 2002 -- Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Al Coates announced today the team's schedule format for the 2002-03 season. While the game dates have yet to be determined, the American Hockey League has announced the framework of how many times each league club will play one another.

The Pack's schedule will include ten meetings each (five home, five road) with Connecticut rival and 2002 Calder Cup finalist Bridgeport, long-time Interstate 91 foe Springfield, and bitter adversary Providence. Hartford will battle another East-Division opponent, Albany, a total of eight times (four home, four away). The Wolf Pack will play a total of four contests (two home, two away) vs. the other member of the East Division, the new Binghamton Senators.

"We are confident that our fans will be excited with how this schedule will work out," Coates said. "The AHL's divisional realignment saw us lose Providence from our division, but we kept ten games with them. That, coupled with playing Bridgeport and Springfield ten times each, will ensure that we maintain the strong regional rivalries that we have built up over the last five years, while we add some major-market opponents in Milwaukee, Utah and San Antonio."

The Pack's 2002-03 schedule format features the Wolf Pack's first-ever meetings with the Milwaukee Admirals (one home, one away), Utah Grizzlies (two home, two away) and expansion San Antonio Stampede (one home, one away), as well as two tilts (one home, one away) against the Calder Cup-champion Chicago Wolves.

The Wolf Pack's complete schedule format is as follows: Bridgeport, Springfield, Providence (five home, five road); Albany (four home, four road); Binghamton, Manitoba, St. John's, Manchester, Lowell, Worcester, Utah (two home, two road); Saint John, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, San Antonio, Houston (one home, one road).

Wolf Pack 2002-03 season-ticket, multi-game, coupon book and group-discount packages are all currently on sale. For more information, contact the Wolf Pack ticket office at 860-548-2000.
