
Aeros Announce Schedule Format

HOUSTON -The Houston Aeros announced today their opponents for the 2002-03 season. The schedule format features 13 teams, including five first-time opponents: Bridgeport, Norfolk, Rochester, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and the expansion San Antonio Stampede.
The Aeros will play the majority of their schedule within the West Division against traditional rivals. Chicago, Milwaukee and Utah will battle Houston 10 times each (5 home/5 away) and San Antonio will face-off against the Aeros 12 times for a total of 42 division games. Grand Rapids, which moved to the Central Division from the West, also will play Houston 10 times.
Each member of the 28-team American Hockey League will play an 80-game unbalanced schedule. The season will begin on October 10, 2002 and conclude on April 6, 2003. The complete regular season schedule will be announced in early August.
