No Dice for Bakersfield in Las Vegas, They Fall 4-1

LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Wranglers (16-7-1-3, 36pts) scored three unanswered goals to turn a tie game into a 4-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (6-19-3-0, 15pts) at Orleans Arena on Saturday night. The two clubs exchanged first period tallies, less than a minute apart. F Scott Campbell, who scored twice in last night's meeting, opening the scoring for Las Vegas at 11:42. C Casey Pierro-Zabotel evened it up at 12:10 with his second of the season for the Condors. Shots were 11-7 in favor of the Wranglers after one. The home team struck for a pair of goals in the middle stanza to take a multiple goal lead. F Ash Goldie at 6:15 and D Mike Madill at 13:03 (on the power play) both bested Condors G Matt Keetley to make it 3-1 through two periods. Wranglers G Mitch O'Keefe stopped all seven Condors shots to hold the lead. Las Vegas extended the lead in the opening minutes of the third, with F Ryan Weston jamming in a power play goal at 1:53 to make it 4-1. Meanwhile the Wranglers 'D' did the rest, shutting down the Condors attack to the tune of just one shot on goal in the first 15 minutes of the period, dousing any thoughts of a Condors comeback.
