Niang Scores 20 in Win over Wolves

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah - The Salt Lake City Stars beat the Iowa Wolves, 101-96, Thursday night in their first home game since the NBA All-Star break.

The contest was a close one with 14 lead changes and 11 ties. Neither team led more than six points throughout the 48 minutes. The Stars went into the break up by one.

Both teams continued to trade buckets throughout the second half until Deonte Burton drained a three-pointer with 49.7 seconds left in the game to put the Stars ahead and sealed the team's win.

All five of Salt Lake City's starters finished with double-digits. Georges Niang led all scorers with 20 points. Isaiah Cousins contributed 19 points, while Erik McCree added 18 points. Utah Jazz assignee Tony Bradley scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds.

The Wolves' Justin Patton and reserve Elijah Millsap both netted a team-high 18 points.

The Stars will host the Agua Caliente Clippers on Saturday, March 3 for Teddy Bear Toss Night. A $15 teddy bear package is available and includes a ticket to the game and a teddy bear, to toss onto the court at halftime. All teddy bears will be donated to local underprivileged youth.
