(Portland, Maine) - New Hampshire's 3B Ryan Schimpf homered twice and drove in five runs, leading the Fisher Cats (23-22) to a 7-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs (24-18) on Monday night at Hadlock Field.

Marcus Walden (3-4), the reigning Eastern League Pitcher of the Week, beat Portland for the second time in six days. Walden earned a quality start, working six innings on eight hits, three runs (two earned), two walks and fanned two.

Joel Carreno fanned all five batters faced to earn his fifth save of the season. Evan Crawford worked 1.1 innings on two hits to earn the hold.

Portland knuckleballer Charlie Haeger (1-1) threw 127 pitches over 6.2 innings, giving up seven hits and four runs, but suffered the loss. Haeger issued four walks and fanned four.

With the Fisher Cats leading 4-3, Schimpf put the game away in the ninth, launching a three-run homer into the U.S. Cellular Pavilion off Miguel Celestino. Schimpf leads the league with 11 homers - three against Portland. Celestino uncorked three wild pitches in the ninth, as Kevin Pillar started the rally by reaching first base on a strikeout wild pitch.

Portland is 1-3 on their seven-game homestand, while New Hampshire is 4-0 on their 7-game roadtrip

The Fisher Cats struck for two runs in the first inning off Haeger.

With one out, Schimpf blasted a two-run homer into Portland's bullpen, his 10th of the year.

In Walden's start on May 14th in New Hampshire, Portland managed just two hits over 7.2 scoreless by the righty, but they would score early. Heiker Meneses grounded a run-scoring double down the left-field line, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Both teams scored single runs in the third and the fifth. In the third, New Hampshire's Brad Glenn knocked in his 23rd run with a ground out. Tony Thomas crushed a solo-homer over the second level of the batter's eye, his fourth of the season. The Fisher Cats grabbed a 4-2 lead in the fifth on Glenn's RBI double to left but Michael Almanzar responded with the same in the home fifth.

Portland had a golden opportunity in the eighth inning, loading the bases with one out against Evan Crawford. Carreno entered the game, and threw nine straight sliders, fanning Meneses and Derrik Gibson.
