Naturals Keep Things Cool at Arvest Ballpark
Published on August 1, 2011 under Texas League (TL1)
Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals have added elements in place to help everyone stay cool at the ballpark in advance of a week which may see temperatures in the region as high as they've been in 25 years. When it's hot outside, there's no place cooler than Arvest Ballpark.
The Naturals have partnered with Culligan water to offer fans a new Culligan Cooling Station inside the air-conditioned Sam's Club Community Room. This cooling station will offer fans the opportunity to have a cold drink of water and a break from the heat. The Community Room has televisions airing the game broadcast as well, so fans won't miss a minute of the action.
"The comfort and safety of our fans is our top priority every day," said Naturals' General Manager Eric Edelstein. "We want everyone to feel very comfortable with their visit to Arvest Ballpark and believe these steps will make all of our fans' experiences even better this summer."
There are other ways fans can stay cool at Arvest Ballpark in the heat. Fans have always been allowed to bring one sealed plastic bottle of water to each game, and can refill that bottle at water fountains located near each restroom. Furthermore, Arvest Ballpark offers fans air conditioned restrooms, misting stations blowing cold air and water on each side of the concourse, and trained first aid at each ballgame. Several of the rows in the back of the seating bowl at Arvest Ballpark also offer constant shade during 7 P.M. night games to keep fans out of the direct sunlight.
The Naturals have also partnered with Edy's to bring Edy's Peach Fruit Bars for this Saturday's game against the Arkansas Travelers. The first 3,000 fans will be offered this frozen treat.
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale. Visit our website, nwanaturals.com, for information on season tickets and ticket plans.
