From the Notes

Nearly A Sweep for the American Side: Of the eight matchups between American and Pacific Con-ference opponents last night, the American side won seven. The only loss was Omaha's 3-2 setback to El Paso. The Pacific Conference won six of eight games on Tuesday.

Don't Test This Arm: Outfielder RamÓn Laureano notched his team-leading fourth outfield assist last night when he threw out Rey Fuentes trying to advance to second base on a fly ball to right field. Lau-reano leads the Sounds in outfield assists despite playing in only 15 games. Adolis Garcia of Memphis leads the Pacific Coast League with nine outfield assists.

Smokebombs: Last night's solo blast by Jake Smolinski was his seventh of the season in just 18 games. Since joining Nashville on May 17, Smolinski's seven home runs is second-most in the Pacific Coast League behind only Tommy Joseph of Round Rock who has eight. Smolinski's .609 slugging percent-age and .955 OPS lead the team by a wide margin.

Thrice is Nice for Neuse: Third Baseman Sheldon Neuse put together the best game of his 2018 season with his first three-hit performance. Neuse's 3-for-4 night raised his average from .183 to .195. He added a pair of RBI as well. The last three-hit game for Neuse was September 4, 2017 against Double-A Frisco.
