Bees Win in Final Game of Series against Express

SALT LAKE CITY - Thanks to a big seventh inning in which they scored six runs, the Salt Lake Bees took the final game of a three-game set against the Round Rock Express 8-3.

After being defeated 16-4 by the Express the day before, it was the Bees whose bats showed up big Thursday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark. Jabari Blash belted his Pacific Coast League-leading 16th home run in the season. David Fletcher went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the game with a pair of RBIs.

Jamie Barria got the start for the Bees and lasted three innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three. He was relieved by Osmer Morales who was credited with the win after he went four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. The victory was the Bees first against Round Rock in Salt Lake City since August 23, 2014 in game one of a doubleheader.

The Bees will remain home to host the New Orleans Baby Cakes in a four-game series starting Friday at 7:05 at Smith's Ballpark. The series will feature promotions Game Show Night on Friday, Star Wars Night on Saturday and La Copa de Division featuring the Hispanic-themed Abejas jerseys on Sunday and Monday.
