Phillips Valdez: 27-year-old Phillips Valdez starts for the Sounds tonight. The right-hander is making his 8th start of the season and 10th appearance overall. Valdez is 0-6 with a 5.50 ERA in his 9 games (7 starts) and has covered 37.2 innings. He last pitched on May 21 against Memphis when Wei-Chieh Huang served as his opener. Valdez worked in relief and allowed 4 runs (all earned) on 8 hits in 5.0 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 5 and was tagged with the loss. Valdez split the 2018 season between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse and went 6-7 with a 2.73 ERA in 31 games (19 starts). He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on December 21, 2018. He was originally signed by the Cleveland Indians on May 29, 2009.

Against Armenteros: Nashville faced Rogelio Armenteros on May 20 in Round Rock. He has faced the following active Sounds - Bandy: 0-2, K; Cole: 0-2, K; Davidson: 0-1, BB; Granite: 0-2, BB, K; Ibáñez: 0-2; Tocci: 1-2; Wisdom: 0-2, K.

Three Baggers x Two: For the first time in 2019, Nashville recorded two triples in a game during last night's loss. Eli White and Zach Granite recorded a triple - White's team-leading 4th of the year and Granite's 3rd.

Plenty of Offense: Nashville and Round Rock play their 12th game of the season series tonight. During the first 11 games, a total of 156 runs have been scored for an average of 12.36 per game. Aside from Nashville's 3-1 win on April 9, the winning team of each game has scored at least 6 runs. Nashville is hitting .251 (101-for-403) with a .740 OPS during the 11 games and Round Rock is hitting .291 (116-for-399) with a .890 OPS.

White's Big Night: Eli White turned in one of his best performances of the season last night by going 3-for-3 with a home run, triple, single, walk and hit by pitch. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 2 runs. Prior to his big game, White was mired in a mini-slump going just 1-for-14 over his last 4 games.

Rare Loss: Despite Nashville batters collecting 10 hits last night, it wasn't enough in the 11-5 loss. It was only the 3rd loss for the team when recording 10+ hits.
