
Nailers Sink The Walleye 4-1

Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, W.Va.-- The Nailers defeated the Toledo Walleye in their first ever match up 4-1 at WesBanco Arena. Jordan Parise picked up his second win in consecutive nights with 27 saves on 28 shots. Aaron Clarke blasted home a pair of goals, Andrew Lord had a goal and 2 assists, and Chris Davis capped the scoring with 2nd goal of the year.
Aaron Clarke got the scoring started for the Nailers and fired it home past Toledo goalie Jordan Pearce's left skate on a feed from Jordan Fox to give the Nailers a 1-0 lead 2:30 into the first assisted by Jordan Fox and Kevin Schmidt.
The Nailers rushed forward and Andrew Lord fired it past the left shoulder of Pearce stretching the lead to 2-0 assisted by Alex Grant and Mitch Ganzak 9:04 into the first.
Malcolm MacMillian flipped it over Nailers' goalie Jordan Parise after he made the initial save to break his no goal streak after he made the initial save to narrow the Nailers lead 2-1. Parise went 97 minutes straight minutes on the weekend holding the opposition scoreless including his shutout of Johnstown Saturday night.
Aaron Clarke got a rebound and shot around a defender for his 2nd goal of the night and 6th of the season that gave the Nailers a 3-1 lead at 8:47 in the third assisted by Andrew Lord and Kyle Bushee.
About 2 minutes later the Nailers built onto their lead with Lord and Kevin Schmidt connecting with Chris Davis who easily knocked it in for his second of the year stretching the Nailers' lead 4-1 at 10:56 in the third period.
The Nailers improve to 10-11-2 for 22 points and are tied for 9th place in the conference with the Toledo Walleye. The Nailers went 3-1-0 in their last 4 games.
The Nailers are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Toledo to conclude the two game home-and-home series.
Friday night the Nailers host the Gwinnett Gladiators and it's T-Shirt giveaway night for the first 2500 fans and Young Life Night. It's also a Friday Four Pack night and WV Lottery Night. The Nailers will also begin collecting Toys For Tots to benefit area kids during this Christmas season.
Saturday the Nailers are on the road at Kalamazoo.
