Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV- For the 11th time in the 20-year history of the franchise, and second straight season, the Wheeling Nailers, AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are headed to postseason play. The Nailers locked up their playoff berth with Friday night's 4-1 win over the Trenton Titans, before Saturday's regular season ending win left the club with a final mark of 37-26-4-5, which is good for 83 points.

The Nailers reached the playoffs as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, meaning they will face the third seeded Kalamazoo Wings in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs, in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Final. The series will take a 2-3 format, with the first two games taking place at WesBanco Arena, and the final three games taking place at Wings Stadium.

Games one and two will be played on Tuesday, April 3rd and Wednesday, April 4th, with face-off for both games scheduled for 7:05 at WesBanco Arena. On Friday, April 6th, the series will shift to Wings Stadium for a 7:30 start, followed by another 7:30 start on Saturday, April 7th (if necessary). Game five will also take place in Kalamazoo (if necessary), with a 7:00 face-off scheduled for Monday, April 9th.

Individual playoff tickets will go on sale Monday, and any fan who purchases a four-pack of tickets or higher for one series, will receive a free 20th anniversary blanket, while supplies last.
