Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-3 to the Colorado Eagles tonight in a shootout, finishing the regular season in second place in the Pacific division and entering the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs as the third seed.
Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski scored the lone power play goal of the first, giving Colorado a 1-0 lead through the first 20 minutes of play. On a second power play goal from Eagles forward Aaron Slattengren early in the second, Colorado briefly held a 2-0 advantage until Wranglers defenseman Jeff May tallied his own power play goal midway through the period to make it a 2-1 game. Eagles defenseman Luka Vidmar, who started the season playing for Las Vegas, recorded his third goal of the season to give Colorado a two-goal lead once again in the third, but goals from Wranglers center Chris Francis and left wing Adam Miller knotted the game 3-3 through regulation and overtime.
In a four-round shootout, Colorado collected the 4-3 win over Las Vegas, ending the Wranglers' regular season with an overall record of 42-22-1-7.
