The Reign took the opening lead of the game when Chris Cloud scored on a wrist shot from the left circle at 13:40. Ontario added to their lead on a Derek Couture rebound goal at 18:20 giving the Reign a 2-0 lead after one period. The Aces outshot the Reign 13-8 in the frame.

The Reign made it 3-0 in the second period when Alan Mazur scored on a power play at 3:36 of the frame. Alaska got on the board at 6:19 when Brandon Gentile's centering feed caromed off of Vincent LoVerde's stick and into the Reign net, cutting Ontario's lead to 3-1. However the Reign tallied one more time in the second when an Aces clearing attempt banked awkwardly to the low slot where Couture was skating back into the play. Couture struck for his second goal of the night to give Ontario a 4-1 lead at second intermission.

The Reign got an even strength goal from Bill Bagron and a shorthanded goal from Geoff Irwin to complete the scoring and Ontario's 6-1 win. The win gave Ontario their second Pacific Division title in franchise history, and made them the #2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

James Reid (6-2-1) took the loss, making 17 saves on 23 shots. J.F. Berube (17-13-4) earned the win, making 38 saves on 39 shots. The Aces power play went 0-5, while the Reign went 1-4. The Aces outshot the Reign 39-23 in the game.
