
Nailers Expand Coaching Staff

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced today the hiring of new assistant coach, John Wroblewski.
Wroblewski comes to the Nailers after coaching in the United States National Developmental Program since 2007. Wroblewski joined the USNDP as a graduate assistant coach, working with both the national Under-17 and Under-18 teams. However, in 2008, Wroblewski was named assistant coach on the United States National Under-18 team that competed at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's U-18 Championships and earned a bronze medal. He also was named assistant coach for the national Under-17 team.

John has valuable experiences in coaching and playing that will help us both win games and develop players for the NHL and AHL.With Stan and John as our coaching staff, I believe we have the best coaching staff in the League."
Prior to his coaching career, Wroblewski played for the United States National Developmental Program, the University of Notre Dame, and the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL.
Wroblewski played 152 games for the USNDP while accumulating 78 points over the 1997-99 seasons. During his stint with the USNDP, Wroblewski won a gold medal at the 1999 Five Nations Tournament and was named the MVP at the World Junior Championships the same year. Following that, he played at Notre Dame from the 1999-00 season to 2002-03 season. Over the course of his career as a Fighting Irish, Wroblewski played in 144 games while scoring 29 goals and 35 assists for 64 points.
After graduating from Notre Dame with a degree in finance, Wroblewski signed with the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL in 2003. While in Fresno, Wroblewski played in 273 games. He scored 65 goals and 60 assists for 125 points and 299 penalties in minutes (PIM).
The Neenah, Wisconsin native joins the Nailers as the first new member of Head Coach Stan Drulia's staff.
