
Mystics to hold Kids Health and Fitness Day

Washington, D.C. â The Washington Mystics will kickoff the WNBA's Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself initiative on Thursday, May 19th from 12-2:00 pm at Samuel Ogle Elementary School in Bowie, Maryland. Mayor Anthony Williams has proclaimed May 19th "WNBA Kids Health and Fitness Day in Washington DC." Mystics players will stress the importance of nutrition while conducting fitness clinics and workshops for over 50 students ages 10-12.
"We have to continue to teach our kids the importance of fitness and nutrition in their lives," said Mystics Rookie Temeka Johnson.
Opening Night for the 2005 season will take place on May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. versus Eastern Conference Champions Connecticut Sun. Season tickets and partial plans are currently available and can be purchased by calling (202) 661-5050 or visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
