AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (May 17, 2005) -- Detroit Shock All-Star Swin Cash has signed a one-year endorsement deal with Rock Financial, one of Michigan's largest mortgage lenders. The deal is the first of its kind for a female professional athlete in the Detroit market and unique in the WNBA in its scope and focus.

Cash will be a spokesperson for "The Mortgage Experts(tm)" at Rock Financial, which also is the presenting sponsor for the Detroit Pistons. She will be featured in Rock Financial radio commercials and on billboards. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Rock Financial will support, with time and monetary donations, the Cash for Kids Foundation. The mission of Cash's recently-established charitable organization is to provide the essential tools for kids to "get in the game" and support youth in their efforts to develop skills both inside and outside of the classroom.

"I am so excited to be involved with the great people at Rock Financial," said Cash, who recently negotiated a mortgage with Rock Financial. "David Hall and his staff do an amazing job of branding their company and raising the level of awareness for any project they get involved with. They are a very results-oriented company, but still maintain a great connection with the fans and the community. Serving as a spokesperson on their behalf and working together to raise awareness, and funding, for my Cash for Kids Foundation is something that I am very much looking forward to."

As part of the contract, Cash will make personal appearances on behalf of Rock Financial, participate in joint media tours to promote community outreach efforts on behalf of the company and will support other media-related projects.

"We're excited about working with Swin and reaching out to a new audience," said David Hall, senior vice president of Rock Financial. "This seems like a natural step for us following our partnership with Chauncey Billups, and our presenting sponsorship with the Pistons. As we've done with the Pistons, we'll be working through Swin to give away tickets to Shock games during the season, sending kids who might not otherwise attend a professional basketball game to see an incredible group of athletes. We want to keep that fan-friendly feel going all year long."

Swintayla Marie Cash is the captain of the WNBA's Detroit Shock. The 6'2" forward is a two-time WNBA All-Star and one of only five women in basketball to have won a WNBA Championship (2003), a NCAA Championship (2000, 2002) and an Olympic Gold Medal (2004). A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Cash begins her fourth year in the WNBA as the Shock's all-time leader in points, points per game and assists.
