Mystics set final roster

Washington, D.C. â The Washington Mystics today announced its final roster for the 2004 season. The roster features five-time WNBA All-Star, Chamique Holdsclaw, 2002 Most Improved Player, Coco Miller and second overall 2004 WNBA Draft pick Alana Beard.

"Our goal at the beginning of the training camp was to assemble the best team possible and we cannot wait to play in front of our fans Saturday night," said Mystics Senior Vice President of Business and Basketball Operations Judy Holland Burton.
Washington kicks off the 2004 season at MCI Center this Saturday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. against the Charlotte Sting. Prior to the game, the Mystics will host its annual street festival, which is free and open to the public. The street festival, scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. and conclude at 5:30 p.m., will be held on F Street (between 6th and 7th Streets NW) in front of the Main Entrance to MCI Center. The festival will feature numerous activities including interactive carnival games, music provided by HOT 99.5, performances by the Mystics youth pep squad the Mayhem and Shaw Junior High School's pep band. Fans should get there by 3:30 p.m. to participate in a pep rally featuring the Mystics team.
