Washington, D.C. - The Washington Mystics today selected 6'3 Center Teana Miller with the sixth pick in the Dispersal Draft. Miller graduated from Tulane University in 2003 and was signed as a free agent by the Charlotte Sting that same year. Miller joins a Mystics' team with National Team members DeLisha Milton-Jones and Alana Beard as well as WNBA assists leader Nikki Teasley.

"She is a big strong, physical, efficient post player," said General Manager Linda Hargrove. "We look forward to having her give us some extra strength and size as she continues to develop her game in the WNBA."

During her rookie campaign in 2003, Miller led all rookies in field goal percentage (.526) and was ranked 17th in blocked shots in the WNBA. In 2005, Miller scored a career-high 12 points against the Detroit Shock. She has averaged 3.7 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game in two seasons in the league. Miller is currently playing in France where she is averaging 9.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game and 2.8 blocked shots per game.

Miller and her husband Robert are the parents of a girl Trinity (2) and a boy, Robert III (7 months).

The 2007 Mystics season tips off on Saturday May 19th at 6:00 p.m. when the team hosts conference rival, Connecticut Sun.
