Myles' Streak Snapped in Loss to P-Nats

Woodbridge, Va. - Bryson Myles saw his franchise-record hitting streak snapped at 23 games on Monday night as the Potomac Nationals shutout the Carolina Mudcats 2-0 at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Myles finished the night 0-for-4, reaching once on an error.

The Nationals (28-20, 70-47) even the three-game series in advanced of tomorrow's finale. Carolina drops to 27-21 in the second half and 49-69 overall.

Blake Schwartz (10-4) scattered four hits over his seven scoreless innings, walked two and struck out one. The right-hander induced 10 fly outs and six pop outs. Travis Henke hurled two scoreless innings to record a save in his debut for the Nationals.

Nick Pasquale (4-7) was saddled with a tough luck loss after tossing a quality outing. The right-hander held Potomac to two runs on six hits over six innings. Pasquale walked two and struck out a season-high seven.

The Nationals scored in the first inning when Brandon Miller grounded to third with the bases loaded. The out scored Cutter Dykstra for a 1-0. Cole Leonida cracked a solo home run off Pasquale with one out in the fourth for the final tally.

The Mudcats square off with Potomac for the final time in the 2013 regular season Tuesday afternoon. First pitch against the Nationals is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium.
